The Princess Of Montpensier (2010) __FULL__

All the dramatic mechanisms he sets in motion here hinge on the reality that the princess of Montpensier is, at the same time, a possession and an object of desire. The moment she is officially sold off into marriage, powerful men feel free to disregard that contract, and so does she. To our modern eyes, her natural romantic partner should be her tutor, but neither Marie nor Chabannes, who buy into the norms of their world, thinks of acting on that. There are only three possible partners in her constrained world, and she prefers the two who are more desirable than her husband.

The Princess of Montpensier (2010)

A stunningly attractive French actress who started out as a young model, Mélanie Thierry is renowned in her homeland as a leading lady, but has also branched out to international productions. After landing minor television parts while in her early teens, she won a memorable supporting role in Giuseppe Tornatore's expansive period drama "The Legend of 1900" (1998), starring Tim Roth, and continued to appear in high-profile fare with her turn as a royal mistress in the BBC miniseries "Charles II: The Power and the Passion" (2003). Gaining more attention both in France and abroad, Thierry had a major part in the dystopian sci-fi movie "Babylon A.D." (2008), a French/American co-production featuring Vin Diesel, along with various Gallic acting luminaries. Before long she graduated to top billing, playing the title character in the French period romance "The Princess of Montpensier" (2010). Thierry's winning streak continued when she was cast in Terry Gilliam's highly anticipated sci-fi film "The Zero Theorem" (2013), featuring Christoph Waltz and Matt Damon.

The Princess of Montpensier(2010) is a bodice-ripper of epic proportions. Set in 16th century France, Princess is the story of Marie de Mezi?res (Melanie Thierry), whose love for her dashing cousin Henri de Guise (Gaspard Ulliel) is derailed when her father pushes her into a politically motivated marriage with Philippe de Montpensier (Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet). Every man Marie meets is smitten with her, but all she wants is Henri. Will this star-crossed couple ever consummate their forbidden true love? 041b061a72
